USD 203 is seeking applicants for maintenance technician positions for the 2020-2021 year. Starting wage is $13.30/hour based on experience, with increases based on experience according to the classified salary schedule. Position Description:

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine building maintenance tasks. Performance of building maintenance tasks in one or more fields (e.g. carpentry, electrical, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), plumbing, etc.). Performs general cleaning and other tasks as assigned.

Key Job Responsibilities:

• Oversee school district electrical, plumbing, HVAC and carpentry needs
• Repair, maintain/monitor all equipment
• Paint, remodel, refurbish areas as needed
• Change of all filters for HVAC as required
• Remove and properly dispose of all recyclable materials as needed
• Change light bulbs, interior and exterior, as needed
• Maintain exterior property; help with snow removal
• Assist with school district furniture and equipment installs/removals

Experience Requirements

• Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, and carpentry
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Must demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills; customer service oriented
• Must be organized, detail oriented, self-motivated, and able to multi-task

Physical Requirements/Environmental Conditions:

• Ability to push/lift 75 pounds
• Ability to climb ladders
• Bending at waist, sitting, kneeling, climbing, walking, crouching as job may require
• Ability to work in extreme temperatures
• Working in high noise levels requiring hearing protection
• Working around lubricants, solvents, batteries, cleaning fluids, paints
