Piper USD 203 is seeking an elementary principal for the 2025-2026 school year. Qualifications:
- Valid Kansas Teaching License with building administrator certification at the appropriate grade levels.
- Minimum 5 years prior teaching experience required.
- Minimum 2 years previous administrative experience.
- Special interest in professional development, curriculum, instruction and assessment aspects of educational leadership
- Alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Supervises: All staff and students assigned to the school
Job Goal: To use leadership, supervisory and administrative skills to promote the educational development of each student.
Essential Job Functions:
- Establishes and maintains an effective learning climate in the school.
- Leads the collaborative effort to design and implement the schools curriculum and cooperates in developing the district curriculum.
- Initiates the development of, coordinates, and supervises school improvement efforts including the development of building action plans that are aligned with district goals.
- Participates in the planning of, approves, and supervises the school’s professional development program, uses PDP Toolbox to announce professional development opportunities and administers building-level professional development budget.
- Prepares and submits instructional budget requests and monitors expenditures of approved funds.
- Administers the school’s activity funds.
- Maintains records and prepares reports appropriate to the school’s operation.
- In accordance with law and policy, establishes and enforces standards of conduct for students and staff .
- Mentor/evaluate all first/second year teachers in conjunction with the USD 203 Mentor Assistance Program.
- Maintains a safe and orderly school environment.
- Enforces all district policies and regulations.
- Represents the school with the community and its agencies and organizations.
- Participates in interview process along with Assistant Principal and/or other interview team. Interviews and recommends for employment all new and replacement staff members.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the superintendent or board.
- Provides regular communication regarding events and progress to staff and community.
Non-essential job functions:
- Serves as building–level KESA facilitator.
- Schedules and supervises school activities.
- Serves on the District Accreditation Team.
Contract Length: 208 day administrative contract
